Rest day edition

Hello there!

I'm a bit late getting this blog entry started not least with being poorly for quite a bit of the week and then busy with other things like catching up on missed stuff and tidying up my bedroom.

It's a time a time of year associated with last minute return to school purchases such as pens and geometry sets through to school uniform which the recent closure of all BHS stores in the UK reminds me of as that was the first store where the whole pull toward buying actual items of uniform for me came from and it has to be said the quality of their stuff was very good.

I can remember buying lots of stuff around  this time not least long  grey ribbed socks and it would survive pretty much the heavy washing routines at home well and these days as a adult little boy I like to although sourcing authentic shorts that fit can be a challenge given many secondary schools don't have shorts as an option and I'm over a 28 inch waist.

I am doing some tidying up tm stuff on this blog altering layouts, changing the odd avatar to spruce it up and help make using it for me a fun thing as you really have pick just a things few you can be active on and given the changes that have occurred over the last year that's one thing I'd like to resume in a measured way.

Teen Beat XXII - Tom Petty

The last time I mentioned TP was in 2014 with the Hypnotic Eye album although I have a lot of Tom Petty's albums on cd.
This album originally came out in 1993 remaining a favourite of many although though their have been other compilations such as Playback box set and 2000's Anthology: Through The Years and it recently (July 2016) came out on double vinyl.

More accurately for people living  my side of the Atlantic, it's a re-issue as there was a very limited vinyl release for Europe and the UK and that edition is like much early 90's vinyl very expensive when you see a copy.

The strength of this set is its brevity containing only the 45's and two new recordings such as Mary Jane's 2nd Dance and that the running order makes for a highly enjoyable play starting with such early tracks as American Girl running through such gems as I Need To Know, Refugee, Don't Come Around Here No More and I Won't Back Down with a lack of anything resembling padding so in just over 68 minutes the case for Tom Petty is made convincingly in song and arrangements.

The four side splits are chosen well so you get the opportunity changing them to reflect on what you have heard and in non technical terms the sound and pressing quality of this European lp set is really high with the grooves cut by Chris Bell.
The picture last Friday was of my turntable playing this!
Before the Heartbreakers were formed, there were a group of guys who played with Tom Petty In Gainsville, Florida and that band was reformed for an album in 2007 and this, Mudcrutch2, is their new offering also bought on vinyl issued May 20th with shared song writing between the band and Tom.

The Studying week of an LB

A scene from the past? Well I'd be in some very serious trouble for  attempting to cheat likeand I recall well at boarding school a classmate too who wasn't the popular kid in class for bragging and being somewhat priggish did try the concealed note trick for an exam and got caught out.
It brought a smile upon my face!

Another great story was the kid aged 14 who was in an electrified wheelchair who writing his Geography homework about Japan wrote of his extensive trips and personal knowledge that he sure couldn't of had although Ronnie was a gas to be with. He'd been clearly caught out plagiarizing a book from the library as there was no way he'd of gotten the bottom of the seabed!!!

As my Caregivers knows whatever my failings are I'm never that dishonest as hard going as studying can be for me like this weekend where I was working on understanding the types of writing, the typical format and structure of each and the style and tone doing exercises in rewriting from supplied information letters and articles in all  five of them.

That's to develop competence and confidence in using them in everyday settings to help me do more for myself studying in addition to generally getting our lives together with some structured work.

After that I listened to some music to relax and chatted cos too much studying and no fun isn't any good for me as much as having to settle down and do some structured activity is.

LB Life

Life as a adult little boy has much in common with that your initial boyhood having routines you are expected to keep to and a structure that even in law adults some of us badly need to keep us grounded and settled.
A big difference between role playing as in Age Play and Age Regression lies in with the former you may play the role for a brief period but otherwise are in a very much adult mindset, for those of us who are always in for reason of developmental delays and attendant disabilities you are very much a child in a adult body to the point breaches of the accepted conduct are dealt with there and then.

With Age Regression you do have an adult sense of self you go back to which truthfully I do not being more an eternal child and I think what some call Age Dysphoria is more it because I'm permanently in a child-like headspace.

For some although not all of us we do get spanked like the child version of us would of done back in the day in the manner we did. For us, we find it helps regulate our behaviour as much as you may work on the underlying issues too.

It isn't what this blog is about but it is in the life we lead.

"We interupt this blog with a newflash!"

Not the why are we waiting  edition but if you hadn't spotted I'm actually away which makes blogging more difficult as I can't go and place five links at various places and many people rely on social media for updates than tried and true systems like RSS and even 'Following'.

There are classes laid on during this period I'll be attending where I'll be doing some work -ones a bit vague but two are arts and crafts based which apart from being fun to do, putting me in a class really takes me into little space, feeling I'm back in school.

One difference from being in school in my day was we didn't have a half of the technology today's schoolboys and girls had not least that you have at hand as it were and some of issues associated with it.

We passed notes and made paper airplanes in class.

Do you think I'll whip out my cellphone starting going through texts and missed calls when we're meant to be working?

I rather suspect if I did it would be dealt with cos apart from distracting others, disrespecting those who take time out to take the classes, it doesn't help me to learn to concentrate on the task in hand as I'm easily distracted.

Rules do have a purpose.
